01Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the TutoriaGlobal platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
These terms apply to everyone who uses the Platform — students, parents or guardians who pay for and supervise a student’s learning, and tutors who deliver Services. Where a clause applies to only one of those groups, it says so.
02Definitions
- “Platform”: the TutoriaGlobal website, mobile applications, and associated services.
- “User”: any individual, including students, parents and educators, who accesses or uses the Platform.
- “Services”: the tutoring, educational content, and other features provided through the Platform.
- “Student”: the individual receiving tuition. Where the Student is a minor, the Account Holder is the parent or guardian responsible for the account.
- “Tutor”: an independent educator who offers and delivers Services through the Platform.
- “Session”: a scheduled one-to-one or group class delivered live through the Platform.
- “Account Credit”: a non-cash balance held against your account and redeemable only for Services on the Platform, as described under Account Credit.
03Eligibility
To use our services, you must be of legal age to form a binding contract or have obtained verifiable parental/guardian consent if you are a minor. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet these requirements.
Where the Student is a minor, the account must be opened and operated by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for all activity on the account, for all payments made through it, and for supervising the minor’s use of the Services.
04Safeguarding and Student Welfare
A significant proportion of our Students are children. We take the following measures, and we require your cooperation with them:
- Tutors are identity-checked and their stated qualifications reviewed before they are approved to teach.
- Sessions must take place through the Platform’s scheduled video facility. Tutors must not arrange to meet a Student in person or contact a minor privately outside the Platform.
- Tutors must not request or accept personal contact details, money, or gifts directly from a Student or their family.
- Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising a minor’s participation and for the suitability of the environment in which Sessions take place.
If you have any concern about the conduct of a Tutor or another User towards a child, report it immediately to support@tutoriaglobal.com. We investigate every safeguarding report and may suspend an account during that investigation.
05Account Registration
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- Accounts are personal to you and must not be shared, sold or transferred.
- You must tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
- TutoriaGlobal reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
06Use of Services
- Services are provided for educational purposes only.
- Users must not engage in any activity that disrupts the Platform or infringes on the rights of others, including educators and fellow students.
- Unauthorized commercial use, reproduction, or distribution of educational materials is strictly prohibited.
- You must not record, copy or redistribute a Session or any teaching material without our written permission and the consent of everyone taking part.
- You must not use the Platform to harass, abuse, discriminate against or endanger any other User.
- You must not attempt to circumvent the Platform’s fees by arranging or accepting payment for tuition outside it (see Additional Terms for Tutors).
07Free Demo Sessions
New Students are eligible for up to three (3) free demo sessions so they can try different Tutors before paying for tuition. No payment card is required to book one.
- Demo sessions are limited to three per Student account in total, not three per Tutor.
- A demo session that is attended, or that is missed without cancelling, counts towards your allowance. A cancelled demo does not.
- We may withdraw demo eligibility where we reasonably believe the allowance is being abused — for example through duplicate accounts.
08Payments and Pricing
- Payments for courses or tutoring sessions are processed through secure third-party payment gateways. TutoriaGlobal does not store your full card details.
- The price payable for a one-to-one session is determined by the Student’s class or, for language tuition, by the applicable language rate. The exact price is shown before you confirm and is what you will be charged.
- Prices for courses, group sessions and paid assignments are shown on the relevant listing.
- Depending on your location, payment may be taken in a currency other than the price display currency. Any currency conversion, and any fee your bank or card issuer applies to it, is a matter between you and them.
- You are responsible for any taxes, duties or bank charges applicable to your purchase that are not collected by us at checkout.
- Access to a paid Session, course or assignment begins once payment is confirmed. A booking that is not paid for is not confirmed and reserves nothing.
- TutoriaGlobal is not responsible for errors or issues arising from the third-party payment processor, though we will assist you in resolving them.
If you dispute a charge, please contact us first at support@tutoriaglobal.com. Raising a chargeback without contacting us may result in your account being suspended while the dispute is resolved.
09Cancellations, Rescheduling and Refunds
This section sets out our cancellation and refund policy in full. It applies to paid one-to-one Sessions unless a listing states otherwise.
If you cancel a Session
- More than 24 hours before the start time: the amount you paid is returned to your account as Account Credit, which you can put towards any future booking.
- Within 24 hours of the start time: the Session is treated as delivered and the amount paid is not returned. Tutors reserve that time and turn away other bookings for it.
If a Tutor cancels a Session
- You are never charged for a Session a Tutor cancels. Where a Tutor cancels within 24 hours of the start time, the amount you paid is returned to your account as Account Credit and you may rebook with the same or a different Tutor.
- If a Tutor fails to attend a Session, contact us and we will credit it in the same way.
Rescheduling
- A Student may reschedule a Session up to 12 hours before its start time, subject to the Tutor’s availability. Inside 12 hours a Session can no longer be rescheduled and the cancellation rules above apply.
Lesson plans and group sessions
- If you cancel a multi-month lesson plan, lessons scheduled more than 24 hours ahead are credited to your account; lessons falling within the next 24 hours follow the standard cancellation rule and are not returned.
- Group sessions and cohort programmes are booked as a whole. Individual occurrences within them are not separately refundable.
Courses and paid assignments
- Downloadable assignments and worksheets are delivered digitally and are not refundable once downloaded.
- If a course is withdrawn by us before you have completed it, we will credit or refund the unused portion.
Refunds are normally issued as Account Credit rather than a return to your original payment method. Where consumer law in your country gives you a right to a monetary refund, that right is not affected by this policy — contact support@tutoriaglobal.com and we will honour it.
10Account Credit
Account Credit is a balance held against your account. It may arise from a cancelled Session, from a goodwill adjustment made by our team, or from a top-up you purchase.
- Account Credit is redeemable only for Services on the Platform. It is not money, does not earn interest, and cannot be exchanged for cash except where the law requires it.
- Credit is personal to your account and cannot be transferred or sold to another User.
- Credit is applied automatically towards eligible purchases; where your credit does not cover the full price, the balance is charged to your payment method.
- Every movement in and out of your balance is recorded and visible to our support team, so a disputed balance can always be reconstructed.
- If we close your account for a breach of these terms, any remaining credit may be forfeited. If you close your account yourself, contact us about your balance before doing so.
11Additional Terms for Tutors
This section applies to you if you offer Services through the Platform.
- Independent status. Tutors are independent contractors, not employees, workers or agents of TutoriaGlobal. Nothing in these terms creates an employment relationship, and you are responsible for your own taxes and any registrations your local law requires.
- Verification. You must provide accurate identity and qualification documents and keep them current. We may suspend your ability to teach if verification lapses or if information proves inaccurate.
- Delivery. You are responsible for delivering Sessions you accept, on time, with a working connection and a suitable environment. Repeated late cancellation or non-attendance may result in removal from the Platform.
- Fees and payouts. We retain a platform fee from the price paid by the Student. Your payout per Session is the amount shown in your account and is settled in accordance with our payout schedule.
- No circumvention. You must not solicit or accept payment from a Student introduced through the Platform outside the Platform, nor encourage a Student to move off it. This is the basis on which the Platform can exist, and breach may result in immediate termination and recovery of fees owed.
- Your content. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use and share any material you teach from, and that it does not infringe anyone’s copyright.
12Sessions, Recordings and Third-Party Tools
- Live Sessions are delivered using third-party video conferencing. Your use of that facility is also subject to the provider’s own terms.
- Sessions and course lessons may be recorded so that Students can review them and so that we can investigate a complaint or safeguarding concern. Where a Session is recorded you will be notified before or at the point the recording starts.
- Recordings are made available for the enrolled Student’s personal educational use only. You must not download, republish, share or resell a recording.
- We may retain recordings for a reasonable period for the purposes described above and in our Privacy Policy.
- We are not liable for interruptions caused by your internet connection, your device, or an outage in a third-party service. Where a Session is lost to a failure on our side, we will credit or reschedule it.
13Reviews and Ratings
- Reviews may only be left by a Student who has actually attended a Session or enrolled in a course with that Tutor.
- Reviews must be honest and must not contain abusive, defamatory or personally identifying content.
- We may hide or remove a review that breaches these terms. We do not remove a review simply because it is unfavourable.
- Tutors must not offer any incentive in exchange for a positive review, nor leave reviews on their own listings.
14Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of TutoriaGlobal or its licensors and is protected by copyright laws.
15User-Generated Content
By submitting reviews, testimonials, or participating in forums, you grant TutoriaGlobal a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, and distribute your content for promotional or operational purposes.
You retain ownership of what you submit, and you confirm you have the right to submit it. We may remove content that breaches these terms or the law.
16Limitation of Liability
TutoriaGlobal provides its services on an “as-is” basis. We do not guarantee that the platform will be error-free or uninterrupted. In no event shall TutoriaGlobal be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services.
No guarantee of results. Tuition supports learning; it cannot guarantee an outcome. We do not warrant that any Student will achieve a particular grade, mark, exam result or admission.
Where we are found liable to you in connection with the Services, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service giving rise to the claim in the twelve months before it arose.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including rights you have under consumer protection law in your country.
17Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to our services at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms and Conditions or is harmful to other users.
You may close your account at any time by contacting support. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund of Sessions already delivered, and any Account Credit is dealt with as described under Account Credit.
18Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Where a change materially affects your rights — for example a change to pricing, cancellation or refund terms — we will give you notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Platform after that date means you accept the updated Terms. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with its effective date shown at the top.
19Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
20Complaints and Disputes
If something has gone wrong, contact us first at support@tutoriaglobal.com or through the in-app support centre. Most issues — a missed Session, a disputed charge, a Tutor concern — are resolved quickly at this stage.
If we cannot resolve your complaint, both parties agree to attempt a good-faith resolution before starting formal proceedings. This does not affect your right to bring a claim in the courts identified under Governing Law, or to use any dispute resolution scheme available to you as a consumer.
21General
- Severability. If any provision of these terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a right immediately, we do not give it up.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, on notice to you.
- Events beyond our control. We are not liable for failure to perform where it is caused by something outside our reasonable control, including outages of third-party infrastructure.
- Notices. We contact you using the email address on your account, so please keep it current. You can reach us at the address under Contact Information.
- Entire agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, form the whole agreement between you and TutoriaGlobal regarding the Platform.
